Direct3D RM AppWizard

These demos were written in 1996 using Direct3D "Retained Mode" -- a technology that Microsoft has long since dropped.

An AppWizard is a tool that creates complete, ready-to-compile applications from within Visual C++. The Direct3D AppWizard is easy to install, easy to use, and provides a great way to get started with Direct3D programming.

Like the AppWizards that come with Visual C++, the Direct3D RM AppWizard presents a set of dialogs that allow you to specify project features and options. The AppWizard allows you to specify the name of the mesh that is to be displayed (if any), the type of light sources that are to be used (ambient, spotlight, directional), and even the names of the C++ classes. The Wizard then generates the project, complete with source code which is ready to compile.
